Virat Kohli is stamping his class on the IPL 2024. Currently, he is the top run-getter in the IPL 2024 with a tally of 634 in 12 innings. With five fifties and one century, Kohli’s form augurs well for the Indian cricket team ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024. Kohli’s latest half-century came against Punjab Kings as he scored a 47-ball 92. While his innings has all elements to be one of his best innings in this edition of the IPL, Kohli made a bigger news by his viral run out of Shashank Singh.

Kohli latched on to the ball after sprinting for quite some distance and threw the ball while in mid-air to run out Shashank Singh, PBKS’ most consistent batter.

Now a new visual of the run out has come, which shows exactly how the run out happened.

Talking to the broadcasters, after the match got completed, he gave a peek into how he has changed his batting this IPL.

“I’ve brought out the slog-sweep to the spinners. I just mentally put myself in that situation and I didn’t practice it at all,” Kohli said after the match. “I know I can hit it because I’ve hit it a lot in the past. So, I just felt like I need to take a bit more risk and for me that shot was something that I used to hit regularly back in the day. And that’s allowing me to hit off the back foot as well because I’m always looking to expose that side of the field against the spin. For me that has been a massive factor in this IPL.”

“So, I think it just takes a bit more conviction and take out that thought that props up: ‘what if you get out’. I’ve been managing to stay ahead of that thought in this IPL and that’s really helped me in the middle overs in this IPL, keeping my strike rate up and keeping the scoring rate going for the team as well,” he said.
